~ By the Spirit’s Power, We Must Reach Them All
Our Decade of Pentecost theme for 2019 is EVERY NATION, EVERY TRIBE, EVERY TONGUE, with the sub-theme, By the Spirit’s Power, We Must Reach Them All.
The theme focuses on the great task of reaching the unreached of Africa before Jesus’ soon return. It also emphasizes the power God has given us to accomplish that task.
The theme takes its inspiration from two New Testament passages. The first is Revelation 7:9, where John wrote,
“I looked and saw a vast multitude from every nation, tribe…and tongue…standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”
The second is Acts 1:8, where Jesus said,
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Africa is a vast continent of great diversity. It contains 58 nations comprising 1.28 billion people speaking more than 1,500 languages. It further boasts 3,688 tribes, 991 of whom, according to the Joshua Project, are “unreached.” These 991 tribes make up 362 million lost souls.
As we enter the final years the Decade of Pentecost, we will focus as never before on Africa’s unreached tribes. We ask God for a fresh outpouring of His Spirit, empowering, inspiring, and directing us to reach them all in the Spirit’s power.
We will not stop until we have reached EVERY NATION. EVERY TRIBE. EVERY TONGUE.
